Photos from an 8-day open expedition. Below, is a map from the company’s website. It gives only a rough idea of where the boats go. They actually sail without strict itineraries.
We did a lot of snorkeling on the trip. For someone who has spent some time snorkeling and diving in some pretty great places, everything that we saw was pretty meh. However, the warm water still felt amazing!
A few long exposure images from the Linapacan Island group, Philippines. Over Christmas break, we did an 8-day expedition with TaoPhilippines.com.
Yi Peng is the beginning of the multi-day Loi Krathong festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Loi Krathong involves a lot of fire. Actually, the significance of the festival lies in the act of letting go of the floating lanterns, or floating candles on waterways. It is how people in Thailand and much of SE Asia practice letting go of angry feelings and grudges. Anne and I flew over to Thailand on Friday, and made it back to the Philippines on Sunday. We stayed in the wonderful Seven Senses Guest House. If I am ever back in Chiang Mai, I would happily stay there again.
