Tradition holds that this is the location where Abraham was going to sacrifice Isaac. Because of his obedience, God told him, “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” Genesis 22.
Muslims also believe that it is the place where Mohammad ascended into heaven.
Christians believe that in end times God will tell John the Revelator to measure the temple and the people in it. (Rev. 11)

If San Diego existed in the Middle East it would be Tel Aviv. Always sunny, hot without getting too hot, and full of perpetually happy and attractive people. Coffee and cuisine are the obsession here. While Jerusalem focuses on the spiritual needs of its residents, Tel Aviv cares for the physical. We stayed at AirBnB places when we arrived in Israel, and before we left. They were both great.
